[intro]

We’re delighted to announce that Northamptonshire Growth Hub is now providing local support and assistance to small and medium sized builders.

Backed by the Government, the support is designed to help builders who may not have the capacity or capabilities to research and access the best service and support available to them. With our help, SME builders can maximise their growth potential and output.

Northamptonshire Growth Hub wants to help local SME builders overcome some of the speculative risks to growth, and to educate colleagues in LEPs and LAs to the benefits that working with this sector can bring.

Support for SMEs is a Government-wide initiative and pillar of the BEIS Green paper ‘Building our Industrial Strategy’.

Why we want to help

SME builders help to provide greater diversification and more resilience in the market. They provide better quality homes which fit to local need. SMEs support the local labour force and supply chain providing a multiplier effect within the local economy. Furthermore, SME builders proportionately recruit more apprentices than the larger builders.

Local Authorities can provide support by unlocking small sites which have multiple benefits. Statistics show that small sites result in proportionately quicker build out rates. There is more support by local communities for local business.
