Based within the Development Hub, Cliftonville Road, the University’s Business Support team offers a wide range of business support services to the Northamptonshire community and to the students and staff of the University. We also support social enterprises on a national scale, through the University’s Inspire2Enterprise brand.
We are a team of experienced, accredited advisers with customer-focused support staff – providing information, advice and guidance to entrepreneurs and businesses at all stages of their development – from pre-start to scale-up. Helping clients across Northamptonshire to start and grow their business with the right solutions to meet their needs.
What happens when you call us?
An adviser will ask you a number of questions in order to understand your business and the stage of its development and growth in order to ascertain how we can best meet your needs.
We will then provide you with information and/or links to relevant resources. You’ll find FREE resources on this website and our business advisers will make sure you have access to the most appropriate support. They will also signpost you to appropriate training opportunities, workshops and events where you can learn from specialists and other Northamptonshire-based businesses.
We are with you every step of the way
When you contact us, we don’t just point you in the right direction. As part of our proactive approach, our advisers may refer you to relevant local, national and EU grant funded business support and development programmes. We will then follow up with you to establish whether the referred programme or contact was appropriate and to offer further support if required. Our site will keep you up-to-date with the latest information to support your business growth. Julie has held a variety of sales and management roles in both the public and private sectors. She has many years’ experience in the delivery of European funded projects, bid writing, project delivery and operational team management.
Julie’s role involves leading our team of Advisers to deliver a high quality information, advice and guidance service to Northamptonshire SMEs, taking lead responsibility for the development, management and delivery of operational procedures and processes whilst enabling the team to deliver a service that has measurable and tangible impacts on our clients with a particular focus on sustainability, growth, and social and economic value.
Paul has over 25 years’ experience across a broad range of sectors, supporting both commercial and social enterprises to define and achieve their goals. He was a key player in a recent social enterprise project delivered within a local prison. He also delivers many of our business support workshops and webinars.
Adam has a degree in Business Management and previously developed and sold his own food retail business. He now supports both commercial and social enterprises, advising from initial idea through to growth stages, and is currently working on several bespoke social enterprise projects.
Events and Marketing Executive
Since graduating in 2013 Jordan has worked with various prestigious commercial businesses and charities across the globe. Within the team she looks after our website and social media, co-ordinates events and builds relationships with local and U.K based commercial businesses and social enterprises who write blogs for us, guest speak at events and more.
